Electrolytes

Electrolytes

Electrolytes are minerals in your body fluids that carry an electric charge.
Electrolytes affect the body in multiple ways including the pH of your blood, the amount of water your body holds, and nerve/muscle function.

Through exercise, it is possible to lose electrolytes through sweat.

The most common electrolytes are: chloride, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and salt/sodium

Electrolytes can be acids, bases, or salts.
