Ranjit Bawa

Owner & President, Life Coach

Ranj has a passion for helping others live, work, and play at their highest level. In his 21 years as a fitness trainer and corporate coach, Ranj has worked with some of Canada's largest organizations to help transform their health, life, and business.

Ranj obtained a B.A. and B.Ed from the University of British Columbia and is ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified. In September 2005, Ranj was chosen as one of Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40 business people for his leadership in the corporate community and his commitment to charity work.

Ranj is a sought after speaker and has shared the stage with leaders Jack Canfield and Robin Sharma. His quiet confidence, humble approach and powerful inspiration are evident whether he is connecting with one or one thousand.

Laura Hobson

Senior Administrator

Laura has been with Renewed Balance for seven years, starting off as a Lifestyle & Fitness Coach and then progressing into the Senior Administration role. She keeps Renewed Balance organized by managing schedules and distributing information for the team and clients. 

Though she is not training on the floor anymore, Laura cares deeply about the personal care and service provided to all clients, and loves watching them transform through their work with the coaches.

I was a former engineering student and infantry soldier for the Armed Forces before I chose a career in fitness and lifestyle. This transition came about because I believe that optimal heath and wellness are directly linked to exercise and diet. I've chosen to be a part of the family at Renewed Balance, a team of extremely genuine people who truly care for one another as we all push to live life to the fullest. 

My favourite exercises are the Waist-Banded Sprint and Overhead Squat, because they both require perfect biomechanics found in strength and flexibility. This is how I train my clients: first we master the biomechanics by improving strength and flexibility, and then we build up to more advanced exercises.

I was born and raised in Venezuela, and have since lived in Texas, Toronto, Vancouver, and now Calgary.

I am a sports fanatic, especially when it comes to soccer and American football. My passion for sports and fitness are some of the reasons why I became a personal trainer. To further expand my knowledge of training for sports and athletes, I am in the process of becoming a certified strength and conditioning coach.

I enjoy any and all activities that involve being outside. During the summer, I like to spend my time playing soccer and camping, and during the winter you can find me snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains.
