A 30-Day Window
Dear Friends,
Tomorrow is June 1st…the start of another month and only weeks away from the official first day of summer…
As we have all witnessed, the calendar moves rapidly and July 1st will be upon us soon – and with that target in mind, may we embrace the next 30 days as an opportunity to set another foundation for ourselves in the sphere of our own health and fitness. When June does conclude, we will feel even more empowered and ready for the enjoyable summer months ahead…
The aim: What are your three main health and fitness goals over the next 30 days? Keep them simple but make them clear…
Do you want to commit to a certain number of workouts of 45 minutes each week?
Do you want to commit to packing healthy snacks for each weekday from Monday through Friday?
Do you want to commit to doing a fitness activity with a family member one time a week for the next four weeks?
Do you want to commit to stretching for 20 minutes, two times each week?
Do you want to commit to eating healthy foods and no sweets from Monday through Thursday of each week?
Do you want to commit to getting to sleep by a certain time each weekday night from Monday through Thursday?
Do you want to commit to waking up 30 minutes earlier, two times each week, to go for a brisk, 20 minute walk and enjoy the peace and light of the mornings?
Do you want to commit to limiting alcohol consumption to only one night each week, if any?
Do you want to commit to drinking 2 litres of water each day and then encouraging someone close to you to do the same, so as to remind each other?
Do you want to commit to doing 2 activities outside, two times each week, for 30 minutes?
These are just examples of focuses you may choose… and you will likely devise ones of your own. The plan this month is to create THREE goals and really work to own them – to make them part of your lifestyle. It is amazing what can be achieved in 30 days…and very often these achievements then become habits.
We are looking forward to helping you realize your goals and visions this month. It will no doubt be a busy one as the kids are getting close to finishing their school year and many businesses are active this month as many people heading out on vacation come July…
Take a moment tomorrow, on June 1st, to ask yourself why this whole journey of health and fitness is so important to you…I respectfully suggest, in some form, you will find that is an essential element of your physical, mental, spiritual and emotional landscape…may you continue to reap its harvest.
