Exercise And Longevity

“Physical activity reduces many major mortality risk factors…” “All-cause mortality is decreased by about 30% to 35% in physically active as compared to inactive subjects.”

“Results of 13 studies describing eight different cohorts suggest that regular physical activity is associated with an increase of life expectancy by 0.4 to 6.9 years. Eleven studies included confounding risk factors for mortality and revealed an increase in life expectancy by 0.4 to 4.2 years with regular physical activity.”

Exercise and living have long been associated. Risk factors of arterial hypertension, diabetes type 2, coronary heart disease, stroke, and cancer increase in sedentary lifestyles.

Weekly minimums according to the Mayo Clinic is 150 minutes of aerobic exercise weekly or 75 minutes of intense aerobics is necessary to maintain your health and at least 2-3 days of weighted exercises.
