What is Metabolic adaptation: Metabolic adaption (MA) is the process by which the body alters how efficient it is at turning the food you eat into energy.

  • Consistent caloric intake whether through restricted measures and or increased will have an adapted response over time.

  • By changing the caloric intake, you can adjust and or reverse adaptations

  • Various studies ranging from The CALERIE Study and others have stated that the expected adaptation rates usually begin in just a few weeks and higher adaptation rates occur after 3-6 months.

By caloric cycling versus long term dieting through caloric deficit, studies have often shown favourable results and far happier tested subjects.
