8 Simple Strategies for a Healthy Lifestyle
Dear Friends,
December has arrived! Although we are closing in on the end of 2010, we have the opportunity to make this month one of our best. Inevitably, this time of year is always marked by many festive occasions, social engagements, kids’ seasonal concerts and business commitments prior to the holidays. The pace can become quite rapid and eventful with the anticipation of the final few weeks of the month.
In November, we shared eight simple yet effective strategies to guide us toward creating a consistent, enjoyable and healthy lifestyle. As a reminder, here they are:
Gratitude: taking time to be grateful for ourselves, our loved ones and those things that matter the most to us
Hydration: focusing on a daily commitment to water intake to keep our bodies working efficiently and to help our minds stay sharp
Meditation: making a conscious effort to spend time in silence, even if for only a few minutes a day, to connect to our inner peace and strength
Breakfast: eating a wholesome and nutritious meal at the start of the day to ramp up our metabolism and give us a foundation of energy
My Top 5 Priorities: planning our top five priorities for the upcoming day to provide us with focus, confidence and a sense of organization
Stretching: spending time at the start and/or end of our day enhancing our range of motion, circulation and relaxation through stretches
Improving our environment: making small yet significant additions or deletions to our home or office surroundings to create more physical and mental space
Rest: making recovery and renewal an important facet of our weekly regimen, thus enabling us to perform at our best capacities
In embracing this month of December, we respectfully remind you to take time for yourself and focus on at least three of the ideas above. You have worked very hard to establish a sense of balance and your performance in your sessions has been awesome.
Our attitude fuels our success; and as we move into this time of year, combine your responsibilities and commitments with a calm focus that will enable you to enjoy the process. The strategies above will help you accomplish this and we are very confident that you will make positive things happen.
