Mindset and Margins.
Two pillars for the coming weeks.
A new month is here. June – and it is a prime opportunity to set forth an approach of consistency and an attitude of determination.
Our mindset really comes from our freedom to choose. We can embrace the present moment and look upon it as a confirmation, a lesson, a revelation or simply…a moment. Often, people allow their mindsets to be influenced by extrinsic factors or habits which neither serve nor honour their path. A positive, empowered mindset allows for deeper awareness, greater understanding, higher performance and quiet confidence. Let’s aim to connect our mindset to our health. Let’s initiate our own personal challenge and step even further into our potential…and then take action.
- Let’s aim to be mentally and physically ready for each activity, workout or sport. In the 5 minutes prior to stepping in, set your mind to a frequency of strength and focus…and be ready
- Let’s be mindful of the foods we consume in the evening, the time we consume them...and the amount of alcohol we intake during the week
- Let’s pledge to concentrate on our task at hand, complete it thoroughly and then move on to the next one
- Let’s allow positive music, people, books and information to surround us…and set firm boundaries against those that are not
- Let’s do one thing each week that, over the next four weeks, moves us just beyond our comfort zone
- Let’s ask the important questions, listen intently to the answers, and learn something from what transpires
- Let’s stay calm when adversity arises and let’s escalate our intensity when the situation calls for it
- Let’s make gratitude a core practice and share it as often as possible
Lots there. All connected to mindset.
How we choose to look at Life. How we commit to a standard that aspires to quality rather than subscribes to mediocrity. How we show up.
Does this mean we have to take it all on and make major changes tomorrow? Not at all.
We just have to create and earn the margins in Life. These are the small, relevant acts each day that can make a difference in any of the arenas outlined above. It really comes down to doing the fundamentals very well on a consistent basis. Just like in the previous examples. What small but meaningful moves can we make over the weeks in June to create a slight shift in our health, awareness and discipline? The focuses above give us some targets on which to make the positive changes.
The margins in our days are razor thin. However, their narrow nature is no indication of their significant depth as they hold the octane to elevate our Life to a whole new level. And when we stack up our daily margins of those things that matter most, we expand our personal profit and protect our most valuable stock – our health.
So during the days of June, let’s harness the power of our mindset. Let’s generate those key margins. And let’s solidify a presence that is connected to excellence.
