Establish a Foundation for the New Year

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season!

2010 has arrived and this month is an opportunity to focus on our fundamentals…to get back into a rhythm of mental and physical health that will establish a foundation for the year ahead. The key to this approach is to keep it simple and clear.

What small yet significant changes or additions can you make to your life for the month of January to create a feeling of accomplishment? What habit can you form to bring further self-discipline into your days? What area of your health can you improve to help you feel better when you wake up in the morning? These are just a few thoughts for you to ponder as we embrace January and take each day one at a time. Here are some potential ideas to which you could commit for the duration of the month…choose two and make them part of your conscious effort.

  • Drink at least 2.5 litres of water each day

  • Read a favorite book two times each week for 30 minutes

  • Stretch for 10 minutes each day, Monday to Friday

  • Go for a power walk for 40 minutes, once a week

  • Enjoy 5 minutes of silence and meditation three days each week

  • Be the most positive person in every room you’re in

  • Set a bed time that allows you for good rest, Monday to Thursday, and stick to it

  • Make breakfast a morning ritual

  • Pack a piece of fruit and a vegetable for a snack each weekday

  • Write in a journal two times each week

  • Instead of listening to the radio in your car, buy one audio CD and learn more

We are looking forward to a great start to 2010 with you! We value and appreciate you as part of our Renewed Balance Team…your victories start today.

Best,

Ranj, Mike and Amy
