Exercise And Winter Immune System

Exercise and Winter Immune System

As winter has darker hours and precarious slippery sidewalks make it difficult to do outdoor activities, a person can find themselves losing motivation and indirectly doing less exercise and having an impact on their immunity (increasing the likelihood of sickness).

Some suggestions are to do home exercises that do not require equipment and some guidelines to suggest how much exercise is to follow the national exercise guidelines; which suggest 150-300 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week.

A side note is to be wary of too much exercise when sick and having harmed your immunity.

Some benefit you will see with regular exercise during winter is increased calorie burning due to temperature and thermal regulation. IE moving to keep warm if outdoors.
Increased mood and energy to fight off SAD (seasonal affective disorder)

Getting more Vitamin D that we sorely lack in AB and maintaining general fitness.
